Jul 11, 2025Day 6 - Unplugged: The Power of Stillness in a Noisy Generation Day 6 is here, and it's time to talk about the power of stillness. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I am God." In today's fast-paced, digital world, stillness is radical. Gen Z is constantly bombarded-scrolling, texting, uploading, downloading, and absorbing information 24/7. But in the midst of the noise, God is calling them to be still.
Stillness is not laziness. It's not retreat. It's strategic. It's where clarity comes. It's where fear is silenced and faith is rekindled. Stillness is the soil where revelation grows. And this generation is craving it-even if they can't yet articulate it. They don't just need a digital detox-they need a spiritual reset. We must lead them there. Create sacred spaces. Encourage solitude. Teach Sabbath.
Model silence before God. Jesus regularly went to "a solitary place" to pray. If the Son of God needed to unplug, how much more do we? Stillness allows Gen Z to hear God's voice above the digital noise. It's where purpose is confirmed, identity restored, and direction clarified. As leaders, parents, and pastors, we must not fill every silence with activity. Sometimes the greatest breakthrough comes when we stop talking and start listening.
